Real Madrid see Stoke keeper Begovic as Casillas successor

Real Madrid are eyeing Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.

The Sunday Mirror says Begovic is being lined up by Real Madrid as a replacement for Iker Casillas next summer.

Begovic has two years still to run on his contract and intimated in the summer that he would be looking to remain at the Britannia Stadium.

He has made it clear that he is excited by life under Mark Hughes and feels Stoke are taking huge strides forward.

That is likely to change with the interest of the current Champions League Champions, who would be willing to offer the former Chelsea 'keeper one of the best deals available in Europe.
