Everton and Aston Villa are keen on the services of Real Madrid midfielder Mahamadou Diarra according to Sky Sports.
The 29-year old Mali international has made just three subs appearances in La Liga so far this term and is set for a Santiago Bernabeu departure in January.
Reports suggest that the Toffees and Villa are at the front of the queue for the former Lyon man who worked with Villa boss Gerard Houllier back in France.
