Real Madrid's Ancelotti: Things turned complicated after Suarez goal

Carlo Ancelotti felt his Real Madrid side performed well up until conceding a second goal to Barcelona on Sunday.

Ancelotti's Los Blancos fell behind in the 19th minute of El Clasico at Camp Nou when Jeremy Mathieu netted for the Blaugrana before Cristiano Ronaldo restored parity just after the half-hour mark.

But Luis Suarez popped up with the winner on 56 minutes and that is when things turned for Madrid according to Ancelotti.

"Two very good teams played each other this evening," he told reporters.

"I think that we played well for an hour, up until the second goal. Then things turned complicated.

"We were very good in the first half. We were solid at the back but in the end we couldn't capitalise. We played well for an hour and not so well for half an hour."

When asked if the best team won, Ancelotti's response was diplomatic: "It's hard to say.

"We were the better team for an hour but Barça's counter-attacks in the final half an hour were devastating. We're two great teams, and they've won on the night."
