Spanish giants Real Madrid are still enthusiastic about their pursuit of Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard. Following the departure of Rafael Benitez from Anfield, odds on Gerrard leaving the club blew out as the Spaniard was the main reason the midfielder would leave.
But Spanish newspaper Marca reported that new Madrid boss Jose Mourinho was still eager to bring the England international to the Bernabeu and would throw in an offer for around £30million to test the resolve of the Merseyside club.
Mourinho has already twice tried to sign Gerrard but it is believed he will not give up his pursuit of the 29-year old.
