Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is maintaining contact with Mauricio Pochettino.

The Argentine coach has been out of work since his sacking by Tottenham earlier this season - and is highly regarded by Florentino.

While Florentino has decided to stick with Zinedine Zidane for next season, Okdiario says there's no guarantee the Frenchman will stick around.

And should Zidane voluntarily choose to depart, Pochettino will be the first manager approached by Florentino.

Indeed, it's understood Pochettino has resisted offers from across Europe to keep himself clear for Real, convinced Zidane will step down at the end of this season.
