De Zerbi has impressed since replacing Graham Potter at Brighton last season.

Pérez wants to shake up the dressing room with his next coaching appointment. With a young squad, Real Madrid believe De Zerbi is the perfect coach to develop their players.

Negotiations are already underway and Pérez feels that De Zerbi is ready to take the final step to the elite level. The 44-year-old's contract with Brighton runs until the summer of 2026.
