Real Madrid No2 Aitor Karanka has played down Jose Mourinho's swipe at UEFA.

Mourinho was unimpressed that UEFA failed to recognise his 100th game in the Champions League last week.

Karanka explained: "No joking or anything, before the match the coach got a call from another coach to congratulate him on the 100 matches and told him that he had received a plaque from UEFA. Then the coach saw it was a something normal, nothing more, he said."
