Real Madrid legend Davor Suker hopes Luka Modric can now settle at the club. Modric was outstanding for victory at Champions League opponents Manchester United this week.

"I hope that he can continue to show that he has the qualities to become an important player for Madrid. The match against United showed that he can lead the team in big games," Suker told Marca.

"I am very happy for him that he put in a good game. He has always worked hard without complaining. This will be a big confidence boost for him.

"He showed everybody what he's capable of. Modric is a fantastic player and he proved his worth at a big moment."
