Real Madrid legend Roberto Carlos has joined the Sporting CP presidential campaign.

A Bola says the current Real ambassador is part of the Rui Jorge Rego candidacy who is looking to preside over the club, with elections to be held on September 8th.

"The objective is to do something similar to Real Madrid," he said.

"We are going to reorganise the whole structure, bring in sponsorship and sign great payers.

"We want to be the biggest club in Portugal and become a big team in Europe."
