Cruz Azul have held talks with Real Madrid legend Hugo Sanchez about the technical director's post.

The Mexican has confirmed meeting with Cruz Azul about the position.

Talking to ESPN's Futbol Picante program, Sánchez revealed, “I already did my homework, in my appointment that I had with Víctor Velázquez and Óscar (Pérez) and we are waiting for news. We are ready for when they make the decision.

“They asked me and I told them, I explained what my plans were, what my ideology is, my work methodology, my coaching staff, etc."

Cruz Azul are seeking a new technical director after the dismissal of Raúl Gutiérrez.
