Real Madrid legend Alfredo di Stefano has heaped praise on Villarreal's successful campaign this season.

Real's honourary president has been impressed by the work of Villarreal coach Manuel Pellegrini and said: "They have good players and a great trainer. Their president, Fernando Roig, is a very good friend of mine and a great person.

"First I want that Real Madrid wins, by all means, but I am a supporter of Villarreal."
