Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas admits he was left low when ignored by Santiago Solari during his time in charge.
Keylor was dumped by Solari for Thibaut Courtois - but was recalled by Zinedine Zidane for his first game back with victory over Real Betis.
"I became very emotional when I saw that I was in the reserves," the goalkeeper admitted to Cadena COPE. "Whatever I did in the training sessions, I knew in advance that I would not play.
“But I've always been a professional. I wanted to keep doing things well. Real Madrid is still a privilege for me."
Being ignored for the dead rubber against CSKA Moscow in their final Champions League group game was particularly hurtful.
“An ugly gesture. Almost all of my teammates got a chance to play. Not me. That was hard to accept, but I remained calm under the situation and kept working hard.
"That is now a thing of the past. The stage under Zidane is what counts. I'm going to enjoy what's coming. I remain calm about it. I know that Zidane gives everyone a chance, not just me."
