Real Madrid ease off as De Gea gets set to sign new Man Utd deal

David De Gea is believed to be getting close to signing a new contract with Manchester United. The 24-year old Spanish goalkeeper has under a year-and-a-half remaining on his current deal but is expected to put pen to an extension very soon according to the Daily Mail.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti had been linked with a summer move for De Gea but it is believed that he has cooled interest as he is satisfied with veteran Iker Casillas and Costa Rica international Keylor Navas.

It has been suggested that former Atletico Madrid youngster De Gea will be offered a long-term contract to remain at Old Trafford for the foreseeable future so the Red Devils do not lose him before he reaches his full potential.
