Real Madrid pulled the plug on a deal for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez over the summer, it has been revealed.Marca says Real had closed a deal for Suarez, which is why the Uruguayan handed in a transfer request at Liverpool.
But once Gareth Bale again popped up on the radar, Real president Florentino Perez shelved any plans to sign the forward.
He is now expected to try again in January, flush with the cash raised from Mesut Ozil's sale to Arsenal.
