Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane faces crunch time today.

Varane will return to training hoping to avoid pain in his knee. If he still has trouble, Real's medical staff are likely to recommend surgery, which has been avoided since suffering the setback in the summer.

Marca says Varane is suffering the same type injury which plagued Kaka and Arjen Robben during their careers.
