Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos says teammate Cristiano Ronaldo deserves the Ballon d'Or.

Ramos insists Ronaldo deserves the gong ahead of Barcelona star Lionel Messi.

"People always say that Messi is the best player in the world, but he is perhaps slightly behind Cris at the moment," he said.

"The Ballon d'Or should go to the best footballer at the time and the differences in their personalities should not come in to it."
