Real Madrid are in contact with Wayne Rooney's camp about move to Spain this summer for the Manchester United striker. Rooney has been long admired by Real president Florentino Perez and Sport says he's learned that the England ace wants to leave United.
Real have offered Rooney a four-year contract, though Perez knows he faces competition from Paris Saint Germain, Monaco and Chelsea. However, United are reluctant to sell to Premier League rivals Chelsea.
The offers from PSG and Monaco are superior to Real's, but Rooney favours the Merengues.
Perez intends to step up talks with United, particularly with No1 striker target Edinson Cavani, of Napoli, now on the brink of signing for Manchester City.
