Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos: A joy to play with Barcelona teen Ansu Fati

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos hailed fellow goalscorer Ansu Fati after Spain's Nations League qualifying victory over Ukraine.

Ramos surpassed Argentine Daniel Passarella with his brace to become the highest goalscoring defender in the history of international football, with 23 goals in 171 games.

"The coach decides the starting eleven," said Ramos. "It is difficult for them because they are young and have experience. It has been a very worthy match. We have kept a clean sheet. Little by little a solid national team will be made."

On Barcelona teen Fati, Ramos declared: "Congratulations to him because he is a young player with desire. It is a joy to have these profile of players.

"Any player who comes young to play for their clubs has to assume his role, which is not that of a simple kid."
