Real Madrid captain Raul is considering shock retirement at the end of this season. El Mundo Deportivo says Raul has all but accepted his diminished status at Real and is aware of talks between president Florentino Perez and Iker Casillas over a new leadership role for the goalkeeper.
Raul is no longer a first-choice at Real and at 33 is now seriously considering retirement.
But the striker doesn't want to leave the club and instead could begin work with general manager Jorge Valdano next season as an assistant.
