Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho was happy for No2 Aitor Karanka to do his post-match media conference after victory over Athletic Bilbao.
Some local journalists and media reps saw the move as an insult from Mourinho.
However, tribalfootball.com understands Mourinho's decision was made as part of the education of Karanka.
Mourinho is delighted with the way the former Real and Colorado Rapids defender has worked this season and wants his No2 to gain experience and exposure by doing more media work.
Karanka has now done ten post-match media conferences this season, though many have been due to Mourinho either being suspended or sent off.
