Real Madrid boss Ancelotti: Those eight goals came from increase of intensity

Real Madrid ace Cristiano Ronaldo struck a hat-trick in their amazing 8-2 rout of Deportivo La Coruna. Ronaldo scored a hat-trick while Gareth Bale and Javier Hernandez both scored twice as Real Madrid ran riot against Deportivo La Coruna at Riazor.

Although Los Blancos needed around 30 minutes to break the deadlock through Ronaldo, once Carlo Ancelotti's side had got the first goal they went about mauling their hosts and buried the memory of last weekend's defeat to local rivals Atletico Madrid by blitzing the Galicians 8-2.

While Ronaldo, Bale and substitute Hernandez contributed the majority of the goals, James Rodriguez also scored his first goal in the Primera Division, while Haris Medunjanin and Toche replied for the hosts.

Ancelotti said: "We played with a lot of intensity and tried to do things well throughout the game. We weren't always able to pull it off, but we killed the match off thanks to our ability to finish off our chances up front.

"We showed all the quality we have going forward. We have a phenomenon and a lot of other top quality players. They combined together really well and that was what stood out. However, we have to be even more consistent and improve the balance in the side. After suffering two defeats we have scored 13 goals in two games. That's a sign that we have reacted well."
