Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid drew 0-0 in the first-leg of their Champions League quarterfinal at the Vicente Calderon.Jan Oblak pulled off two vital first-half saves, the first of them at point-blank range, to deny Gareth Bale and enable Atletico to extend their unbeaten record against Carlo Ancelotti's men this season to seven games.
Real enjoyed the better of the early stages at the Vicente Calderon, but ultimately had to make do with a share of the spoils to set up a dramatic shoot-out at the Bernabeu next Wednesday evening.
Real coach Carlo Ancelotti said: "In the first half we deserved more than 0-0. It was fantastic; we played very well, with a lot of personality. The second half was different, Atlético pressured more, we found it more difficult to control possession and the match was more even.
"It isn't such a good result, but we have confidence because of the match we've played, because of what the team showed in the first half, and we have confidence for the second leg."
