Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti insists he values Lucas Silva.

The former Cruzeiro midfielder has struggled to make an impact since his January arrival.

"The squad has changed slightly compared with last season, but it is still very competitive and the level of performances from the players like Kroos and James has been excellent," said Ancelotti.

"Lucas Silva had a few problems settling in, but that's to be expected. That has happened to true greats from the history of football, like Platini and Falçao."
