Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti had no complaints after their defeat to Valencia.
Los Che ended Real Madrid's winning streak two shy of the world record as they came from behind to win 2-1.
"Valencia are a strong side. We prepared well for the match and played well, but we lost," said Ancelotti.
"We congratulate Valencia, who fought hard and now we are focused on preparing for the next game. We will put out our best team against Atlético to get something positive out of the game. The team was physically fine at the final whistle. This defeat won't affect us. It had to come eventually and we are looking forward because the season is a very long and we are well positioned in La Liga.
"There was a key moment in which we could have scored a second goal, but we weren't able to do it. You can't be effective all the time. We worked well and had chances to score. We deserved a draw at the very least. I have nothing to say about the team's play and good work."
