Initial tests suggest Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has avoided serious knee injury after last night's clash at Celtic.

A half-hour into Real's 3-0 Champions League win at Celtic Park, Benzema was forced off with an apparent knee injury.

El Chiringuito's Josep Pedrerol has reported that initial scans this morning at Valdebebas suggest he has avoided serious injury.

Benzema will undergo further tests this afternoon.

However, for the moment, there's a confidence Benzema has not suffered any serious knee damage.
