Real coach Jose Mourinho has openly declared he wants to upgrade the Argentine's current deal, which runs to 2016.

But El Confidencial says there is a split inside the boardroom, with some directors believing it would be better business to sell Higuain and use the cash raised to buy Atletico Madrid star Radamel Falcao.
