Real Madrid ace Bale lands fourth Wales award

Gareth Bale has been named the Welsh player of the year for a record fourth time at the Football Association of Wales awards night on Monday.

The 25-year old winger has landed the Vauxhall FAW Player of the Year award for the fourth time in the past five years to overtake Mark Hughes and John Hartson who both won the award on three occasions.

Real Madrid star Bale, formerly of Tottenham, was also named the Wales' Fans' Player of the Year for his performances for the Welsh national team over the past 12 months.

Other award winners on the night include Tottenham left-back Ben Davies who landed the FAW Young Player of the Year and Swansea City captain Ashley Williams who was named the FAW Club Player of the Year.
