Real Espana's Martinez unlikely to return to Seattle Sounders

Seattle Sounders head coach Sigi Schmid and general manager Adrian Hanauer suggests that Mario Martinez will not return to the club.

The 23-year old Honduran midfielder is back at parent club Real Espana after his loan with Seattle ended on June 30 but after negotiations between the clubs, it is unlikely a temporary or permanent deal will be arranged.

"I don't think anything is moving on it at all," Schmid said on Thursday. "It's probably becoming a dead issue."

Hanauer added: "We're still in communication, but I'd agree with Sigi that it's looking less and less like he'll come back. Until he has a new team, until things are set in stone, I guess you never say never in these types of situations."
