Real Betis veteran Joaquin: Strange playing in front of empty stadiums

Real Betis veteran Joaquin admits he'll find it strange playing in front of empty stadiums.

The coronavirus outbreak has forced the suspension of LaLiga since mid-March, but there are plans to complete the season behind closed doors.

"It will be a very odd feeling," Joaquin told Antena 3.

"It will have happened on other occasions, but now we'll be going out for every game and having no fans in the stands will be strange.

"I'm going to remember all those people who have left us in moments of tragedy.

"If we put this into perspective, there are stadiums that would be filled with the people that have died.

"That's how big this tragedy is.

"The heroes are the ones wearing white gowns in hospitals and the ones serving everyone in the street.

"They are the heroes and, thanks to them, we hope to be able to continue with our lives sooner rather than later.

"People have taken responsibility and put themselves on the front line of the battle without asking for anything in return.

"They deserve a tribute.

"They are the real heroes and we owe them everything we are doing.

"They are setting an example."
