Reading midfielder Jem Karacan was happy with his start in their FA Cup defeat at Manchester United.

He hopes he did enough to stake a claim for a Premier League start.

Karacan told the Reading Post: "The competition here is really good, but I hope I have staked my claim to get the shirt back. I want to play every game and that's my aim.

"You dream as a kid about coming to Old Trafford and it was nice to have my family and friends there watching."
