Reading have signed Nathaniel Chalobah on loan from Chelsea.
The Royals have secured the promising 20-year old midfielder for the remainder of the season as they look to push themselves up the Championship table.
England U21 international Chalobah, who can also be deployed in defence, is highly-rated at Stamford Bridge and the Blues are keen to get more senior game time into him following a recent spell with Premier League side Burnley.
Chalobah has spent time with Watford, Nottingham Forest, Middlesbrough and Reading since joining Chelsea's first-team ranks in 2012 and Reading boss Steve Clarke is excited to have him at the Madejski Stadium.
"Nathaniel is a good young player who I have known about and followed for some time," former Chelsea assistant Clarke told Reading's official website.
"He burst onto the scene as a 17-year-old when he was part of the Watford team that narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League in 2012-13.
"He will certainly enhance our already strong midfield department with his qualities. We welcome Nathaniel to the club and look forward to him playing his part in a more successful second half to the season."
