Reading goalkeeper Alex McCarthy has played down England talk this week.

McCarthy is refusing to get carried away about his future career prospects following his superb performance during Reading's 2-2 draw at Swansea City.

The youngster, who has three Under-21 caps to his name, said: "There is obviously a lot of other good keepers out there so I'll just keep doing my thing and see what happens. Hopefully I'll get there one day.

"I don't want to be beaten. That is my main goal."
