Adam Federici is set to be married on the same weekend as that of the FA Cup final.

The Reading goalkeeper grabbed the headlines on the weekend after he handed Arsenal victory in the semi-final at Wembley when he allowed Alexis Sanchez's shot to squirm through his hands and in over the line.

The extra-time gaffe cost the Royals the chance to book another date at English football's headquarters in the form of a final and it has now been revealed that Federici had actually booked in his wedding on the weekend of May 30.

However, the Australian would have rearranged the date had Reading progressed to the final according to Sky Sports.

10-time Australia international Federici joined Reading from Italian club Torres in 2005. He will marry long-time partner Micaela Gardner in Italy.
