Reading hero Le Fondre relieved to get first win of campaign

Adam Le Fondre admits it was a massive relief for everyone at Reading to secure their first Premier League victory of the season yesterday.

The 25-year old striker netted a double as the Royals came from behind to beat Everton 2-1 at the Madejski Stadium and the first lot of three points went a long way to easing the pain felt by last season's Championship title winners early in their top flight return.

"It's a massive relief for all of us," said goal hero Le Fondre.

"We've got the three points and it's a monkey off our backs as they say. It's a magnificent result for us.

"We've been working hard all season to get that win and we've been in some great positions so far this season and not finished teams off."

The win allowed Reading to move out of the drop zone and into 17th place on the table on goal difference ahead of struggling Aston Villa who lost 5-0 at Manchester City.
