Relegated Reading are believed to be keen on former Real Madrid and Everton midfielder Royston Drenthe.
The 26-year old Dutch winger is currently with Russian club Alania Vladikavkaz but is attracting the attention of the Royals who are preparing for next season in the Championship.
The hugely talented but controversial Drenthe kicked off his career with Feyenoord in 2005 before landing an £11million move to Real Madrid in 2007. During his time in Spain, he was loaned to Hercules and Everton before Madrid decided not to offer him a new deal last summer.
