Reading are planning a major bid for Coventry City striker Michael Mifsud.
The People says Royals assistant boss Wally Downes made a personal check on striker Mifsud on Saturday night when he played for Malta in Greece.
Highly-rated Mifsud's tally of 11 goals in 17 games this season included a double strike when Coventry knocked out Manchester United in the Carling Cup.
