Reading attacker Adam Le Fondre has revealed how being convinced he wasn't Eric Cantona by his Dad was the making of him.

Le Fondre was a huge fan of the Manchester United legend when growing up.

Le Fondre explains: "That arrogance Cantona had was something I loved, as well as his flicks.

"My dad knocked that out of me though and I wouldn't be where I am without him - he was a massive influence on me.

"Sometimes I would score six goals and he'd have me in tears afterwards telling me I had made too many mistakes or I had to work on my left foot.

"He wasn't a great player himself but he instilled a drive in me to get better and made sure I played my own game. He told me I was not Cantona."
