Razor: No chance Gerrard will leave Liverpool - not even for Mourinho

Former Liverpool defender Neil Ruddock can't see Steven Gerrard leaving Anfield. Ruddock, who enjoyed a five-year spell on Merseyside, reckons Gerrard will remain at the club for now.

The 42-year-old told The Sun: "I think he'll stay at Liverpool. If he ever does move it'll be abroad, although that's at least two or three years away in my opinion.

"At the moment I think he's got unfinished business at Liverpool and I'm sure he'll want to win more trophies before leaving."

New Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho is one of those rumoured to be weighing up a bid for Gerrard.

Ruddock, however, believes the England skipper would even turn down a move to the Spanish giants to stay at the club he loves.

But he does admit that Gerrard may not have the final say on where his future lies.

The ex-defender added: "I don't think he'll be tempted even by Mourinho.

"But if Liverpool get an amazing offer it will be out of his hands. The board will make the final decision.

"Sometimes things are taken out of a player's hands, but I'm sure if it was down to him he'd want to stay."
