David Trezeguet struck twice as Juventus defeated in-form Livorno 3-1 last night - but coach Claudio Ranieri was still unimpressed.
"I liked the desire to win and the great determination they showed tonight, but we made far too many mistakes in the build-up," said Ranieri. "A round of applause must go to Cristiano Zanetti, as our midfield revolves around him. He is fundamental for us."
"The goals all came from Del Piero, he had a key role tonight."
Giancarlo Camolese also had reservations about Livorno's showing at the Stadio Picchi, which ended their nine-match unbeaten run.
"Aside from the chances we created and the great effort we put in, we forgot who it was we were facing," said the former Torino boss.
"We gave them far too many spaces on the counter with their best players. You get an entertaining game that way, but also take risks against a side with far greater technique.
"We had talked about this during the week, but once we got out there it was difficult to maintain that rational approach."
