Ranieri dismisses Juventus job pressure claims

Claudio Ranieri insists his job is safe, despite Juventus' disappointing recent run of results.

The coach said: "We have to keep calm. The team is doing well and we don't need to change anything. One must always work hard after whatever result.

"If you win, then you keep working to stay at the top. If you don't win, then you keep working to reach the top. If the Ferrari doesn't win a race, they don't fire the whole staff."

Yet Ranieri's position is under threat with newspapers suggesting the old guard element of the squad is in favour of a new Coach.

"Do I feel threatened? I don't read the newspapers, but I did receive a great deal of telephone calls from friends being reassuring, which suggests someone really blasted me…

"No, I do not think I am in the balance. We are doing our best and simply not reaping what we sow. There's no need to panic.

"This is the way football is in Italy. Cesare Prandelli was torn apart after the great things he has achieved with Fiorentina, the same happened with Luciano Spalletti following three years of miracles at Roma."
