Rangers have made a new approach to Fulham for midfielder Steven Davis.

The Daily Record says Gers acted after learning that Barry Ferguson would miss the first three or four months of the season with an ankle injury.

Irishman Davis, who was on loan to Rangers from Fulham last season, is wanted by Blackburn.

But Rangers chief executive Martin Bain has been in contact with the London club and asked to be "kept abreast" of any developments on the transfer front.
