Rangers remained within striking distance of top spot thanks to a 2-0 away win over struggling Hibernian.
Walter Smith's men bounced back from their narrow 1-0 loss to Hearts on the weekend with a solid performance at Hibs' Easter Road ground in Edinburgh to remain five points behind Celtic.
First-half goals from Madjid Bougherra and Nikica Jelavic did the damage for 'Gers and Smith was happy that Jelavic was able to get on the scoresheet for the first time since returning from three-and-a-half-months out with injury.
"I'm pleased that he managed to get a goal and play the length of time that he did. He's getting towards full match fitness with every game he plays so I'm pleased with that respect," Smith said.
Rangers will now prepare for Sunday's League Cup clash with Motherwell at Ibrox.
