Rangers' goalscorer Wallace happy to crash Celtic's party

Rangers winger Lee Wallace was delighted to have stalled Celtic's imminent title party in yesterday's Old Firm derby.

'Gers won 3-2 at Ibrox in an action-packed clash which saw a total of three players sent off as well as Celtic manager Neil Lennon sent to the stands at half-time.

Wallace, who netted his side's third goal in the 77th minute before nine-man Celtic scored late twice, admitted it was a nice feeling to get one over their Glasgow rivals who are 18 points clear of the reigning champions.

"Spoiling Celtic's title party was an extra bit of motivation for us," said Wallace.

"We knew what could have happened if they'd won the game. We knew exactly what we were up against.

"But testament to the players and the management, I think we got everything right.

"We knew exactly what was expected, we knew everybody had written us off and that might have spurred us on. Everybody worked their socks off.

"There was plenty of energy and plenty of work rate and plenty of endeavour and the atmosphere helped because the fans were tremendous."
