Rangers Edu hoping for justice over Loovens tackle

Rangers' Maurice Edu hopes justice will take its course when the Scottish Football Association deals with an incident involving Celtic's Glenn Loovens. The American international was brought down in what he describes as a 'malicious' tackle by Loovens back in May and the matter will be overseen by the SFA.

Edu says he just wants justice to prevail and that the Dutchman gets whatever penalty is handed to him.

"I called it the way I saw it, he called it the way he saw it and that's what happens in football," Edu said.

"There are always going to be different perceptions as to what happened and that's the end of it.

"It is not up to me to decide what is going to happen to him, it's up to the SFA."

Earlier, Loovens said he believes the word malicious was far too harsh and that he meant no harm with his challenge.

"The word malicious makes it sound like it was deliberate," he said.

"That is his opinion but he can't speak for what I am thinking. I didn't do it on purpose. It was just an accident.

"It all happened so quickly and I think (the SFA) will realise that as well.

"I know what I was thinking and it definitely wasn't on purpose."
