Kirk Broadfoot admits Aiden McGeady's absence can only benefit Rangers ahead of the Old Firm derby this weekend. McGeady will miss the trip to Ibrox after being fined and suspended from first-team activities for a fortnight following a bust-up with manager Gordon Strachan.
"I think any team would say that if Aiden McGeady doesn't play, it's an advantage," said the Gers defender.
"He's a quality player, there's no getting away from that, but another quality player will come in.
"This is Celtic we are talking about and there will be players wanting to take their chance.
"I think it will be a miss for them but they will bring in a player who will take his chance.
"Aiden has been one of my hardest opponents but if we are playing Celtic, you know that they will bring in another who will give you a hard game. Every game is hard in the SPL."
