Ally McCoist was overjoyed after his Rangers side produced a confidence-building 3-2 win over Old Firm rivals Celtic at Ibrox yesterday.
Sone Aluko gave 'Gers an 11th-minute lead before Andrew Little and Lee Wallace made it 3-0 by with just under 15 minutes remaining.
Despite having nine men after Cha Du-ri and Victor Wanyama were sent off, Celtic struck twice in quick succession through captain Scott Brown's 89th-minute penalty and Thomas Rogne's injury-time header.
There was not enough time for the Hoops to grab a leveler and even though there was a late lapse, McCoist was thrilled his side were able to hold on for a massive victory.
"I just thought we had a mad five minutes at the end, but I really felt it was a great performance overall and I thought we were the better team.
"We are where we are and injuries affected us, but safe to say we looked more solid than we have done.
"It was a bizarre match, but I felt we were the better team.
"I didn't need a team talk. I just wanted to win the game and we did that.""Obviously we are delighted with the result and really pleased with the manner of the performance," he told Sky Sports.
