Rangers boss Ally McCoist expects to hear from Dundee United youngster Scott Allan very soon regarding his future.
The 20-year old midfielder looks set to join West Bromwich Albion this winter but Rangers have held talks with the Scotland U21 international and McCoist has his fingers crossed about a possible shift to Ibrox.
"I hear he's a Rangers supporter and I hope he turns out to be a Rangers player too, but time will tell.""We have shown an interest in Scott, as have one or two other clubs. I think we will probably hear in the near future what is happening there," he said.
Meanwhile, 'Gers Old Firm rivals Celtic have also been credited with an interest in Allan but manager Neil Lennon has indicated a move to Parkhead is unlikely.
"He is a good footballer, but my only concern would be that we have plenty in the position.
"He is a player that is of interest. I haven't spoken to him yet.""He is out of contract," he said.
