Rangers manager Ally McCoist has confirmed that forward Kyle Lafferty has been suspended and has blasted the player for letting the club down.
The 24-year old has been told he is basically finished at Ibrox after failing to turn up in Edinburgh last Friday ahead of the weekend's meeting with Heart of Midlothian with McCoist labeling the ex-Burnley man as ill-disciplined.
"There was a failure to show for the travelling party. I phoned and left a message because I couldn't get him and I asked him to get back to me.
"He didn't do that so I felt there was no other action to take and I didn't take that action lightly.
"I also know that his agent and his previous agent have been speaking to a Championship manager which I'm not sure's allowed. I think he's been winding us up the wrong way and the fans and players deserve a lot better from one of their own.
"We have a great set of boys and you don't want to disrupt them but those lads deserve better.""There was unfortunately yet another breach of discipline from Kyle and it's the last thing we needed," the boss of the embattled Glasgow club said.
