Steven Gerrard is close to bringing Swedish international Filip Helander to Rangers for a fee of around £4 million.
The defender has already agreed to terms and Gerrard teased the finalisation of the transfer after Rangers beat Gibraltan outfit St Joseph's in the Europa League.
"It will be a permanent deal for a defender," said Gerrard after the match.
Helander made 60 appearances for Serie A side Bologna over three years, scoring just a single goal.
He featured 20 times in the league last season for Bologna as a centre-back.
Helander has been a constant feature of the Swedish youth teams, before being called up to the Sweden senior squad in 2017. He's since recorded ten caps for his country.
If the deal is confirmed, it'll be the most money Rangers have spent on a transfer for nine years, since they bought Nikica Jelavic for £4.4m from Rapid Vienna.
