Angel Rangel is determined to force his way back into Swansea City's starting eleven.
The Spanish right-back lost his place in Garry Monk's line-up following the arrival of Kyle Naughton from Tottenham in January but is hoping he can re-establish himself after Naughton was injured in the win over Hull City on Saturday.
"When you are used to playing every week you just take it for granted. Then all of a sudden I was out of the team," he told Wales Online.
"It wasn't easy at the beginning although I understood it.
"Kyle has done ever so well since he's come in so sometimes you understand while you're not playing.
"I just have to work hard every day and show the manager I want to get my position back if I can.
"I haven't been able to yet, but injuries are part of the game and I'm ready if I have a chance now.
"Hopefully Kyle's injury is not as serious as it looked on the pitch and he will be back with us because we are a team at the end of the day, but I am ready.
"It's been a bit frustrating but hopefully I may get a chance now."
